The Faithful Chili

On the equatorial continent of Narm The Order of the Golden Sun have developed a rather unique chili, here is its history. When the first trade route opened up across the sea of Tentalsor and the people of Bansopa established a small community in the port cities of Narm they brought with the soup known as chili. Chili took the common people by storm, its flavor very different from most of Narmish cooking. The Order of the Golden Sun was not permitted to eat either beans or beef, which is what the Bansopa people used in chili. So the High Priest of the Order commissioned one of the Bansopas to make a chili using permitted foods. Hominy was something that the Order was allowed though normally made into a mash for breakfast. Chicken was the only meat besides fish that the Order was permitted. Thus with a few small spice changes to enhance the new flavors Faithful Chili was born. Its birth prevented much sinning among the lower ranks of the Order.

3 lbs chicken boneless skinless breast (you can use 'whole chicken')
2 Tablespoons chili powder
½ cup dry sherry
1 Tablespoon garlic salt
1 Tablespoon lime or lemon juice
½ Teaspoon ground thyme
½ Teaspoon paprika

1 Teaspoon ground sage
1 Tablespoon dried minced onions
1 large chopped green bell pepper (can substitute a hotter pepper if desired 1 cup)
